Rachel Garner, LCSW-S, PMH-C
Rachel Garner, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, has practiced in the behavioral health field for over 14 years. Born and raised on the North Shore of Oahu, she received her undergraduate degree in Communications from Southern Oregon University and returned home to Oahu where she received her Masters in Social Work from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Since then she has worked in both inpatient and outpatient behavioral health settings in Hawaii, California and Texas. She began her career working with pregnant, postpartum and parenting women in recovery from drugs and alcohol. Over time her scope expanded as she worked with young children experiencing trauma and toxic stress and eventually adults of all ages struggling with behavioral health challenges.

Rachel has varied experience working as a clinician in direct practice providing counseling and case management to individuals and families. She is passionate about working with family systems and has provided parent education and coaching to many families. She also worked many years as a senior leader in both the non-profit and private sectors in behavioral health. The majority of her time in leadership has included operational management of residential and outpatient addiction treatment facilities. Rachel is passionate about educating individuals and communities and provides clinical, operational and leadership trainings. Some of her favorite topics to educate and train include Trauma Informed Care, Positive Discipline for Parents, Neuroscience of Addiction and Addiction as a Family Disease.

Rachel moved to Austin in 2016, and currently offices in West Austin, near Dripping Springs, Texas. As a working mom she understands the importance of work life balance and incorporates these values into her work with individuals, families and organizations.
